Mike Elliot filmed by Rod Hardisty upon his comeback with new theme music.
Rod would produce the show and answer the phones and was referred to on air and was often on-mic.
Very rare footage showing the main studio which was very technically advanced in 1994.
[Who knew he stood up for most of his show?! He was a stand-up comedian I suppose!]
An incredible time capsule of two full 4 hour late night regional phone-in shows. Tremendous foresight from Rod!
When the adverts play, the Pontop Pike (101.8FM North) and Bilsdale (100.7FM South) transmitter opt-outs are interestingly in each stereo channel.
It's amazing how far away he was from the microphone but still sounded great. A loud voice!
First video is from 10th Sept 1995 and confusingly ends with a jingle from a much later custom Jam package from about 2000/2001. However, it is historically important because it is the first show after he was taken off air and fined £3,000 for swearing to a caller proud to be a benefits cheat, which created a huge amount of publicity and attention and was even discussed as a topic on their lunchtime phone in.
